163-170In this work we study the effect of the dielectric barrier discharge (DBDs) on capacitively coupled radio frequency argon glow discharge at low pressure. Firstly, the property discharges are given without DBDs, commenced by means of which exists in the literature in order to validate our code numeric. The model is based on the drift-diffusion approximation. The results with DBDs are mostly affected by means of the surface charge concentrations and the gap voltage. Consequentially, the particle densities, electric potential and electric field, mean electron energy as well as the current densities are totally different compared to those obtained without dielectrics

Given the field of application and the many advantages, the use of FGM (Functionally Graded Materials) materials has recently been extended in several components and more particularly in cylindrical structures, which have been the subject of several recent studies. Our work aims to use the finite element method to analyze a cylindrical structure in FGM with properties gradated in the direction of the radius (Thickness) solicited purely in internal pressure by the implementation of a UMAT subroutine in the calculation code ABAQUS. The elasto-plastic behavior of the FGM is described by the flow theory represented by the equivalent stress of Von Mises and an incremental hardening variable. The TTO model (Tamura-Tomota-Ozawa) was used only to determine the elastic-plastic properties of the FGM material. The radial, tangential and axial stresses according to the thickness were evaluated in the first part of our work. In the second part, these stresses are evaluated under the same conditions but with the presence of a micro-cavity. The results obtained show clearly that these stresses are in direct relation not only with the thickness and properties of the FGM tube but also with the presence of the cavity

Dermatomyositis revealing breast cancer: report of a case

    Get PDF
Dermatomyositis (DM) is a rare connective corresponding to an inflammatory disease of skeletal muscles. Paraneoplastic origin must always be sought, primarily gynecological tumor in women, but the investigations are often made difficult by the fact that a primary tumor is often not detectable at the time of the cutaneous manifestations. This approach includes in addition to the monitoring report at regular intervals of 6 to 12 months for two years after diagnosis. We report a case of Dermatomyositis revealing breast cancer

Synthesis of an Optimal Dynamic Regulator Based on Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) for the Control of the Relative Humidity under Experimental Greenhouse

    Get PDF
This paper describes one practical approach that suggests a model based technique to control in real time the relative humidity under greenhouse. The humidity level is one of the most difficult environmental factors to be regulated in greenhouse. Moreover, maintaining and correcting for more or less humidity can be a challenge for even the most sophisticated monitoring and control equipment. For these raisons, a Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller for relative humidity regulation under greenhouse turns out to be useful. Indeed a LQG controller is proposed for a relative humidity under a greenhouse control task. So, the state space model, which is best fitting the acquired data, was identified using the Numerical Subspace State Space System IDentification (N4SID) algorithm. The mathematical model that is obtained will be used for evaluating the parameters of LQG strategy. The proposed controller is implemented in two steps, in one hand, Kalman filter (KF) is used to develop an observer that estimates the state of relative humidity under greenhouse. In the other hand, the state feedback controller gain is estimated using a linear quadratic criterion function. The suggested optimal implemented controller using Matlab/Simulink environment is applied to an experimental greenhouse. We found, according to the results, that the controller is able to lead the inside relative humidity to the desired value with high accuracy, regardless of the external disturbances

    Speech Enhancement via EMD

    Get PDF
WOSInternational audienceIn this study, two new approaches for speech signal noise reduction based on the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) recently introduced by Huang et al. (1998) are proposed. Based on the EMD, both reduction schemes are fully data-driven approaches. Noisy signal is decomposed adaptively into oscillatory components called intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), using a temporal decomposition called sifting process. Two strategies for noise reduction are proposed: filtering and thresholding. The basic principle of these two methods is the signal reconstruction with IMFs previously filtered, using the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) filter introduced by I. Y. Soon et al. (1998), or thresholded using a shrinkage function. The performance of these methods is analyzed and compared with those of the MMSE filter and wavelet shrinkage. The study is limited to signals corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise. The obtained results show that the proposed denoising schemes perform better than the MMSE filter and wavelet approach

Stator current demodulation for induction machine rotor faults diagnosis

    No full text
International audienceSeveral studies have demonstrated that induction machine faults introduce phase and/or amplitude modulation of the stator currents. Hence, demodulation of the stator currents is of high interest for induction machines faults detection and diagnosis. The demodulation techniques can be classified into mono-dimensional and multi-dimensional approaches. The monodimensional techniques include the synchronous demodulator, the Hilbert transform, the Teager energy operator and other approaches. The multi-dimensional approaches include the Concordia transform and the Principal Component Analysis. Once the demodulation has been performed, demodulated signals are further processed in order to measure failure severity. In this paper, we present a comprehensive comparison of these demodulation techniques for eccentricity and broken rotor bars faults detection
